Your first instinct when trying to lose weight may be to cut back on your food. However, instead of helping you get into that pair of jeans, it can actually hurt your chances even more. This is because cutting down on food and consequently going hungry will actually tell your body to slow down its metabolism and conserve energy. So instead of shedding the pounds, your body is actually holding onto it. A proper diet has to go along with your exercise routines. Salads are excellent foods to help you lose weight. They are low in calorie but are very nutritious. There is also a wide variety of salads and you can also create your own. Toss in your favorite fruits and vegetables to liven up your salad.

A lot of women have desk-bound jobs. They’re usually chained to their desks for an average of eight hours a day. This takes up most of the day and leaves a lot less time to work out and be healthier. The good news is that there are some yoga moves that can be done to relieve you of the aches and pains of sitting and typing the whole day. You can do these moves about three minutes every two hours to relieve you of the tension that you are feeling.
Wrists and hands usually suffer from the repetitive movements caused by typing as this is usually done for hours. The beginning move for this is to sit at your desk with your feet flat on the floor about hip-width apart. Sit up straight to the crown of your head and then let the shoulders drop away from the ears. Interlace your fingers on your lap and then stretch out your arms in front of you and press your palms away. On exhale, raise your arms overhead and straighten your elbows. Hold this position for about ten breaths and then lower your arms at the tenth exhale. Repeat twice more for full benefits.
For pain in the eyes, look away from your computer and focus on a completely different object. Without moving the body, look up to 12 o’clock, then 3 o’clock, down to 6 o’clock, to 9 o’clock and then to 12 again. Do these five times. Now you know what to do when you begin feeling the pain and strain of being desk-bound

Every woman has it. That little pouch that contains essential items that she absolutely cannot live without. This is the ubiquitous cosmetic pouch. These days though, it seems that the pouch is becoming more and more like a bag. The ladies seem to be hauling everything but the kitchen sink. It’s time to break down to the essentials to trim down the bag back to the pouch.
The first essential must have is a concealer. Most everyone needs this to hide blemishes such as discolorations, zits, and dark circles around the eyes. The next essential is foundation or at least some sort of face powder. This is to even out the skin. One in matte would be good. Mascara and eye liners are also important. However, one or two of each will do because you don’t have to bring your entire arsenal everywhere with you. Then there are the tools for the lips, lip gloss and lip stick. Always bring shades with you that you know go with your skin tone. Next is a compact of eye shadow. Make sure that you have enough variety to carry you through day to night makeup as you never know when you might have a surprise date for the night. It would be good if you are able to find make up that are small enough and made especially for being carried around.
Now, just an important reminder, don’t forget to throw out old make up. These are certainly not part of the must haves.
A nightly beauty regimen has always been espoused by our mothers and grandmothers. Women were raised thinking that it is a crime to go to bed without washing off the day’s makeup and thoroughly cleaning your face. They say that if you don’t take your make up off, you’re going to age faster and it would be much harder to regain it.

So, what are the basics of a nightly regimen? Use a good facial wash to begin your nightly ritual. It would be beneficial if you wash your face twice. This would first remove the makeup and then the second wash would actually cleanse your face. Mascaras and eyeliners are trickier to remove so for this you would need an oil-free remover. This could already come in the form of soft eye-pads that are already pre-soaked in the remover. After this, use a toner to help in making your skin tone more even. Lastly, slather on some moisturizer to retain a dewy look.

Oral hygiene is also an essential part of a nightly beauty regiment. It is very important to floss. They say that it doesn’t really matter if this is done before or after brushing. Then brush your teeth for about two to three minutes. After this, gargle with your favorite mouth wash for about thirty seconds to a minute. Put some lotion on your hands, legs, and feet. This will help in moisturizing them while you sleep. Then, get into your pajamas and it’s off to bed with you.
